The Seven Penitential Psalms are regarded as David's lamentations of repentance for the sins that he committed against God.

 

Pope Innocent III instructed that these prayers should be prayed every day during the days of Lent. If you cannot say them on each day during this Season, you can pray them on on Lenten Fridays or you could break them up and pray one on each of the 7 Fridays of Lent. find a comfortable prayer space to pray the Psalms, and don’t forget to begins and end with the short antiphon provided, and recite a glory be in between each one.
