The fleur de lis is a symbol of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a medieval emblem in France representing the lily as a symbol of purity. In many Sacred art depictions of Mary and Marian shrines we can find the fleur de lis, the lily flower, present to remind us of Mary's sinlessness.
